RACOBAO has started engaging in efforts to reduce the damage caused by natural hazards such as drought. Initial efforts have involved advocacy for increased climate financing under the Climate change project of the ACT Uganda forum. This project although with a national outlook through engaging national leaders such as at the Ministry of water and environment and at parliament is specifically targeted at Teso and Karamoja regions. Other man-made hazards such as political insecurity in Congo that has resulted into refugee influx into Uganda have seen RACOBAO engaged in humanitarian assistance work in Rwamwanja refugee settlement. Being a new program area to RACOBAO management is working with the ACT Alliance to build the staff capacity in this area.
