A team consisting of 3 Lyantonde District officials and Vincent and Toke from RACOBAO went to the districts of Lwengo and Sembabule to engage in benchmarking meetings on disaster risk management. The purpose of the meetings was to exchange experiences within disaster risk management, learn from each other and examine the potential for further collaboration. The meetings were very inspirational, and the team went home with a lot of food for thoughts. Lwengo and Sembabule districts face many of the same natural hazards that Lyantonde does and there was a clear perception among the participants at the meetings that we could all benefit from closer collaboration between the 3 districts. RACOBAO and Lyantonde District will now work on establishing closer ties to Lwengo and Sembabule districts and examine how we can work together.
