Finn Church Aid Uganda together with RACOBAO, is implementing the Village Saving and Loan Approach (VSLA), promote gender sensitive, self-reliant, community-owned and community-led development. The WINGS Project is designed based on the requests and actions proposed by the local rights holders and duty bearers. It is built on the VSL Approach and methodology, a timely venture that will be used to promote a culture of saving and access to credit facilities for group members, increasing household income through saving and investment, as well as increasing access to credit facilities for the Women’s and girls’ groups.
On the other hand, DIAKONIA Austria is also supporting RACOBAO in implementation of an economic empowerment project mainly targeting women in refugee hosting communities of Kamwenge District in western Uganda. The project mobilise women to form Village Savings and Loans associations in order to save on a weekly basis and access loans which they use for emergencies and on settingun or boosting the income generating activities. out money to each other.
