RACOBAO facilitated a scenario-based exercise for Lyantonde District’s Disaster Management Committee (DDMC). The District Council Hall was the venue and the exercise was attended by the members of the DDMC. The scenario was a severe hailstorm hitting the District and the role of the DDMC was then to coordinate a response based on the information they were given. The exercise is the first of its kind in the District and provided the members with knowledge of their role and responsibilities during a hailstorm disaster, as well as gave them an insight into the response to a disaster. This is thus, yet another step towards preparing Lyantonde to efficiently manage disasters in the future.
